Rob Geary Bookkeeping and Accounting Services has been helping Tasmanian and interstate businesses for over 20 years.

I am Rob Geary, formerly in the banking industry for 17 years now providing bookkeeping and accounting services. My business focuses on providing high quality, cost-effective bookkeeping and accounting services either onsite or through a bureau arrangement using my own facilities and equipment.

If you are a business owner who wants to get on top of your paperwork and stay there, I will replace your worries with confidence, putting you back in charge. I will ensure you meet your GST, BAS and Superannuation requirements and your priorities are taken care of. This leaves you to do what you do best, running and building your business.

A bookkeeping service is a cost-effective way of ensuring your finances are correctly recorded and reported, according to a pre-conceived plan that we work on together. I aim to leave you with the right cash-flow for your business and feeling more confident about your bottom line.

If you are intending taking on a bookkeeper ask them the following questions to determine if they meet the standards set by the Tax Practitioners Board. The TPB registers and regulates bookkeepers nationally and work to protect consumers of bookkeeping services just like you.
Recent changes in legislation now require bookkeepers to hold a minimum level of educational criterion at Certificate IV Financial Services (Accounting) or a Certificate IV Financial Services (Bookkeeping)
Are they affiliated with a National Accredited Organisation receiving regular professional updates on the latest industry regulations and expectations
This means using my bookkeeping services protects you from potential liability for penalties imposed by the Tax Office for errors on your Business Activity Statements. I have the maximum level of insurance cover, which gives my clients added security and peace of mind
Section 251L of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936 defines the parameters under which a bookkeeper can operate and charge a fee for lodging a BAS. This extends to giving advice on the preparation of the return itself
The best bookkeepers are governed by a professional Code of Conduct and abide by ethical processes, another reason why using my services protects you and can help your business prosper
As a Registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board I am able to lodge your BAS legally and gain full access to ATO on your behalf including safe harbour provisions. A taxpayer who uses my services will benefit from certain administrative penalties in certain circumstances and penalties will no longer apply
